I know I wasn't alone back in 2004, or even before that, when I saw Obama for the first time and knew that I was looking at our future President, and a symbol of racial harmony, thoughtful and intelligent leadership, and hope.
This has restored my hope in human kind. We're witnessing a future in which racial differences fade away, and the old politics of cynicism and partisanship crumble.
It's really happening, and it brings me such joy.
